Shaxer, docthib, me (anybody else interested?)

What about each of us makes every three map:

daze: level1
docthib: level2
Shaxer: level3
daze: level4
docthib: level5
Shaxer: level6
etc.
.
.
.

I suggest first making just the maps with the following characteristics:
- Hero at the starting position
- The Exit
- All monsters (where possible)
- All gems as they are when you start playing the level

Some questions:
In which format shall we save the maps? (jpeg? which quality?)
Later: How should we describe the level and the solution? Sometimes you have to point out a position on the map. Shall we use numbers or the alphabet? Which font should we use and which color.
Where will the maps be stored? Where to use the webspace? I volunteer for the webspace.
What about making a pdf-document in the end, where all levels are described? I can do that too (using Adobe Indesign)

Question to ID before we begin: Is that OK with you? Could you possibly provide us with the maps, so we could be spared sacrificing precious time? 8)

Here comes map #1

I'll just edit my first posting and add the maps there. So in future they'll be on top.

Daze - good thinking! I'm in with the map of every third level - as soon as ID confirms that they have no shots of full levels :)
after that I'll send you the links to the pics I make so you can reedit your first post.

ID might have no shots, but I am absolutely sure, they have a level-editor. Maybe they could take snapshots from the levels by themselves.

Hi Daze, Shaxer and Docthib

We all in ID are very enthusiastic about your idea.

Yes, of course we have an editor, but there is a lot of "unwanted" stuff on each map. So, the screenshots look awful.
We are very sorry, but we can not help you guys in this matter:(

But if you need some webspace or anything else, just let me know.

Good luck!

Hi Tomasz,

well, no problem at all. This will give us the opportunity to play this game once again.

Daze - you got that right :)

would you just edit your first post so the actual pictures would be on top, not the plan?
and I hope I got it right that the correct map shows the starting position, the exit, all the monsters and all the gems.

good screenshot saving :)

The pictures are on top now.

And that's right:
- Hero at the starting position
- The Exit
- All monsters
- All gems as they are when you start playing the level

No thing... I just see that everyone love the girl  ^^
I'll send you the map.

Shaxer's map are enigmatics because he can see the amount of gems he has already taken ;)
This doesn't matter but it's fun :p ;)

Personnaly I remove "time" and "number of lives" of the map.

That's OK. Maybe I remove them too, later. We could also remove the score, doesn't make any sense. But the time could be crucial, maybe we (I) just write them down along with the level data.

I think after finishing every map on one stage, ID could place somewhere on the Super Miners site.

or we should make a topic just for the maps, with every stage a different message of that topic. this way it will much easier to see through the "system".

opinions?

I would suggest collecting all the maps first. Maybe during the whole operation we will run into unexpected events where we decide to alter different maps. After we've done all the maps, we decide whether we split the maps into stages, each in its own topic. Maybe we want to discuss different levels first, or provide a solution for each level.

By the way: nice maps, Shaxer. I'll modify the times of all levels to display the initial level-time.

I use indows Paint too and it takes 5-10 minutes to put a map together...
the longer part is taking the screenshots.

If you have well placed (and lots of) screenshots, it really shouldn't take longer, should it? :)

actually if you need them in different colors (for snowy levels or sandy) just take one of the already finished maps and cut the bottom or top off.

I think it's time to synchronise the top line. so what should be left there?
- 'gem' symbol
- number of gems you need to collect
- any zeros for score or gems?

dotchib - just pm daze the links. putting the maps on a separate post is just confusing.

'gem' symbol and the number to collect are OK. Zeros for score or gems make no sense, but look nice :) I'll remove them as soon as possible. Should we keep the hero in the top line?

Should we keep the hero in the top line?

I think the hero's pic is useless...

I agree, nice job Shaxer. Looks intimidating :)

I think so, too. Just as Shaxer did on level 57.

On level 60, the only fireball missing is on the row with the invincibility (green force field) extra. As soon as the fireball shoots, this extra will bel eliminated. So level 60 is shown correctly :P But I agree with you on the three bottom launchers.

level 54 - ye I know, I just thought it looks rubbish to put the exit AND the guy on the same grid. with level 57 I had no other choice so I actually tried to cut around MrDrill and place him above the exit - I wanted to ask your opinion which solution is better?

level 60 - I'll fix it and I'llput them in a nice straight column just for you :p

Hero's head on top of maps - I think they look nice. so it's up to daze to decide :)
